The spot where he proposes
8:30a.m:
I hopped into his car when he drove into my estate punctually for our planned morning breakfast. He swung a blindfold in front of me, “Wear this.” He grinned. I obediently did.
8:45a.m:
Me: Where are we?
He: You know when we get there
Me: Will you confirm my guess if it’s correct?
He: Ok
Me: Are we going to Bottle Tree Park near Khatib MRT
He: Wah, my dear is so good at guessing. Did you get the idea because we went there for a walk a few days ago?
Me: Partly, but also from the way the car is moving, it feels like we’re moving there leh.
He: Wah my dear got sense hor.
9 a.m: He led me out of the car still blindfolded. I heard the voices of laughter from bystanders but ignored it coz they can’t recognise me with my blindfold on anyway. Haha. He led me down the steps and asked me to wait at the bottom of the steps. I heard someone playing with the water just a bit to my side. I was wondering if it was such a short walk from the car park to the lake at Bottle Tree Park?
9:05a.m: He called out to me to remove my blindfold and when I did, I was at the beautiful Upper Seletar Reservoir!

Upper Seletar Reservoir
A picnic mat is spread on the grassy banks with the breakfast spread. He had his guitar slunk over one shoulder and a present wrapped like a bouquet of flowers.
9:10 a.m: He serenaded me with songs and melted my heart as usual with his guitar playing. When he is certain that I was putty in his hands, he popped the question and got his desired answer. The park rangers at the fringes of our picnic spread smiled.
9:30a.m: As he tucked ravenously into breakfast, I opened the present and there was: a coach bag, and (surprise of surprises!) within the bag – the “Notre Dame de Paris” musical DVD (my dear said I looked so much happier at receiving that than the coach bag!)

"Notre Dame de Paris" musical DVD

Book I've been looking for all over in Singapore
as well the book “Historical thinking and other unnatural acts” - stuff that I was looking for a long time in local shops. Wow!
“Bet you thought that I did not get you anything from the US rite?”, he smiled.
“Yupz, but I didn’t care, I was just glad that you’re back.”
Feeling surreal, right now I can’t quite believe I would soon no longer be a unit by myself but be half of a whole within a forseeable future.
[Edited on the 29th Sept 2009]
Through my other half-to-be, I experience a measure of the relationship between Christ and His bride, the Church. The blessed peace of receiving acceptance despite my faults and failings, too numerous to count; yet receiving sustenance, care with single-minded devotion. Basking in a persevering love that gives not as the world gives; but in nature being gentle, meek and kind. If this is experienced from mortal man, what more from Jesus?

Thanks, island!
Not fixed yet, he had proposed only recently. We’re waiting for inputs from our parents.
If I had remembered correctly, the time between quok’s proposal to you and your wedding was 6 months difference rite? I don’t think I can manage that, I would probably need a bit more time….

Quop very romantic mah.. got dinner in the sky…
But as you’ve mentioned in your “skywriting” blog entry, “A marriage proposal should be genuine, sincere and meaningfully special to the couple. That’s all that matters, isn’t it?
