As I wrote my last post, I stopped short in the middle of the sentence “…. before my SO and I were in a relationship.”
Why does “in a relationship” narrowly define only that of 2 people dating/are in a courtship together?
Doesn’t that imply that friendship, kinship and familial ties are not relationships?
This is a symptom of our increasingly compartmentalised lives and BGRs expanding as a determinant of the worth of our lives.
We must pause and think about if our lives are determined by too large a part (/lack) of BGRs?
Have we cold-storaged or downplayed the importance of other types of relationships in our lives?
